Looking to the Final Home Game of the Season!!

    Looking Back Against the Cowboys:

The fans of the Giants understood why Jerry Reese put as much attention in the defenses during the offseason as he did. The defense forced three turnovers and held the Cowboys to seven points. Giants Head Coach Ben McAdoo was happy with the team’s effort: “What we did well, tremendous effort by the defense all night. We stayed in the moment the entire 60 minutes of the ball game. I really thought we put our foot down in the second half of the game. We tackled fundamentally sound. We held the offense to seven points, minimized explosive gains and forced turnovers. What we need to work on, we need to keep them under 100 yards rushing and keep them out of field goal range at the end of the first half.”

LT: Still Everyone’s Favorite Giant

POMPTON PLAINS, NJ- Lawrence Taylor, two-time Super Bowl winner, ten-time Pro-Bowl linebacker, member of the New York Giants Ring of Honor, and inductee into the Pro Football Hall of Fame, spent 2.5 hours of his Saturday night meeting and greeting fans at All Star Collectibles in Pompton Plains, New Jersey. Approximately 150 fans brought their cherished Giants memorabilia for Taylor to sign: helmets, seat backs, jerseys, footballs, and mini helmets. The first guests excitedly arrived over two hours in advance. Lucky for the fans in line, Angry Dad Tailgate company  was in the parking lot providing refreshments. Once inside the store, fans recounted to LT stories of the past, to which he listened intently. One fan even told a story about how he once tried to pick a fight with LT in a bar on route 17!

Once the public signing was finished, LT graciously gave Danielle McCartan of BackSportsPage ten minutes of his time. We discussed the following topics:

0:22: Did you always know you were going to be a Hall-of-Famer?

0:47: His input on former Giants teammates that are nominated for the 2017 NFL HOF class.

1:41: To which current player does he liken himself?

2:30: What was it like being inside of Bill Parcells’ inner circle?

3:36: What is your best Bill Parcells story?

4:29: Did Parcells ever, actually, play football?

4:50: 2nd on all-time sacks list: Do you ever feel cheated that your rookie year sacks were not recorded? (Sacks were not a ‘statistic’ until his second year)

5:29: What advice have you given to the younger Giants players?

6:20: What was Michael Jordan like as a ‘college kid'?

6:43: 2nd overall choice, what was your NFL Draft story?

7:19: What inspired you to make the switch from baseball to football?

7:50: What is your opinion of Tim Tebow switching from pro football to pro baseball?
